Kirkby Lonsdale Coach Hire Ltd is a family business that operates bus services and coaches from Lancaster, Kendal, Kirkby Lonsdale and the surrounding areas. August 2011 will see us reach 20 years in business.
We can provide quotes and ideas for trips around the UK. We have 24, 29, 35, 51, 53, 57 and 65 seat coaches. We also have 70 seat school coaches available.
Work we undertake currently include school trips and residential weeks, football matches, School sports, shopping trips to Manchester/Liverpool etc, trips to the Lake District.

"The bus driver drove right past us as at the Newby bustop even though we were clearly indicating for him to stop. There is plenty of visibility approaching the bus stop. The bus was running almost 25 mins late."

"I have tried now on two separate occasions to catch the 552 bus to arnside, and am absolutely furious. The bus skips its stops. I tried the first time the other day from a stop outside of Asda in Kendal (the stop said quite clearly the 552 would stop there) and had the driver clearly see me and make no attempt to stop. Then today I waited at the stop it would get to after, just outside of Westmorland General Hospital in Kendal. Once again, the bus driver clearly sees there are people waiting and we acknowledge him, but he doesn’t even go towards the stop and drives past again. This is a bus that only come to Kendal once a day, so it just missing the stops has affected my plans severely. Sort out your drivers and make sure they actually know when and where they need to stop for gods sake. Awful service."

"Reading all these awful and damning comments about this firm would if I was its owner/boss make my Hair curl. You do not seem to want to respond to these genuine complaints and more importantly deal with these serious operational issues which you are ignoring. I have sent emails to you with a return receipt so know you have seen them but totally ignore. Yet again today the no 8 service at 1.45 from Lancaster did not turn up, get to Lancaster bus station at 2.10 and its sat there with St Chads on the front, door open and no driver to be seen. The no 8 service used to be one of the most reliable in the area. One Saturday recently not one ran, another morning said no buses from Lancaster till 1.45. Come on KL coaches buck your ideas up, if you do not want to attempt to run this service then do not bother but absolutely no point running as it is, as it is a complete shambles. It would be more reliable with no service maybe that is your hidden agenda. At least then people not hanging around waiting, and could make other transport arrangements. It is a shame as your drivers are superb, they do not serve to work for such a rubbish company, they get all the aggro THAT YOU CREATE You are a dreadful company and should be ashamed ignoring the transport needs of many aged disabled people that rely on it. get a grip"

"Waited for no 80 bus 16;50 Kirkby Lonsdale to Low Bentham. Shown on website timetable, on timetable at bus stop. Bus did not arrive. Called KL coaches, was told rather curtly the bus hasn't run for weeks due to "registration dispute with traffic commissioners". No assistance offered, very much an attitude of hard luck and the bus isn't used by many passengers anyway. Situation only salvaged for myself an another passenger by the initiative of the bus driver of a later no 82 bus and the driver of an empty bus just off a school journey, The empty school bus dropped us off in Bentham on way back to depot..Top marks for drivers, their initiative and for looking after their passengers-zero for KL coaches. It is really poor that the "withdrawal" of the service hasn't been communicated to intending passengers."

"Absolute abortion of a bus company the 11 00 saturday 29th June from caton to.lancaster didn't turn up go to garstang for the day come back and the 6 50 back to caton doesn't turn up how you have your franchise god only knows because you truly are crap"

"You surpasses yourselves today. The 531 abandoned a blind man in the rain. Twice. Leaving him to navigate 2 miles of dodgy pavements with 300 feet of ascent. In the rain. It would not be fair to say you are a disgrace. You are worse."
